Clinical Team Leader

The Clinical Team Leader, as part of the Nanaandewewenin Program, oversees the day-to-day operation of the clinical services, including: Telemental Health Program, Clinical Services Coordination, Weechi-it-te-win Family Services Family Counsellors and the Youth-in-Transition program. It is a priority to provide an environment for staff to be creative and use their individual gifts in their work with people as well as ensuring a safe space for clinical supervision and staff wellness. Clinical oversight includes not only maintaining the standards for best practice in each of the programs, but also merging First Nation culture with contemporary approaches to clinical practice. The role of the Clinical Team Leader is also intended to build and maintain supportive relationships with the community care programs and ensure the WFS clinical programs are a valuable and accessible resource for the community teams and First Nation's members.

The Clinical Team Leader reviews new referrals for services and assists the program staff in determining eligibility as well as completing assessments and creating inclusive service plans. As trends develop in the needs of the communities, the Clinical Team Leader seeks out opportunities for capacity building within the WFS clinical programs and Community Care Programs.

Weechi-it-te-win's Clinical Team Leader must also advocate on behalf of the local First Nation Communities and liaise with other community resources to ensure that any gaps in clinical services are filled immediately. The philosophy of the WFS Clinical Team is one that is respectful and supportive of each community's autonomy and unique needs and we rely heavily on the input of the community to guide our work.
